Act 34 Public Hearing
When: Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 8:30 – 10:30pm

Note Please take notice that the Penn Hills Board of School Directors will convene a public hearing in the Board Room of the District's Administrative Offices, 309 Collins Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 8:30 p.m., for the purpose of reviewing and discussing the proposed New Construction of the Penn Hills Senior High School. A description of this Act 34 Project, including facts with respect to educational, physical, administrative, budgetary, and fiscal matters related to the Project, will be presented, and will be available for consideration at such public hearing. The booklet will be available for review during normal business hours at the District’s Administration Offices, 309 Collins Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 beginning on Tuesday, March 9, 2010.
The Penn Hills Board of School Directors by resolution has duly opted and has authorized the following in connection with the project:
“Maximum Project Cost” of $97,873,787
“Maximum Building Construction Cost” of $69,229,880
This public hearing is being held pursuant to requirements of the Pennsylvania Public School Code of 1949, approved March 10, 1949, as amended and supplemented, including amendments made pursuant to Act 34 of the Session of 1973 of the General Assembly.
All residents are invited to attend. Anyone wishing agenda time, or wishing to submit written testimony or both, should contact the Secretary of the Board of School Directors in writing with their name and address not later than 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2010. Remarks will be received first from those individuals who pre-requested time on the agenda. Additional testimony will then be taken from the floor until all interested individuals have had an opportunity to speak. Public testimony will be limited to five (5) minutes per individual.
Written comments regarding the New Construction and the Act 34 Project may be submitted to the Secretary of the Board of School Directors until 4:00 pm., Friday, April 30, 2010.
